Chinese Medical Degrees Learn Chinese
Prior to receiving the final degree, medical students in China typically complete a five-year Bachelor’s degree program and a one-year internship (also known as a clinical rotation) where they actively participate in patient care. The typical master’s degree program for the clinical specialty is two or three years long. The national entrance exam taken by all universities determines acceptance. For the 2016–2017 academic year, there are 45 colleges in China that provide English-taught courses to international medical students at Medical Universities in China.

The Wuhan University School of Medicine’s Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program was established in 1923. It has 3 A-Level Grade III connected hospitals, 6 research facilities, and 5 educational institutions. The hospitals have 5080 beds, 15 million outpatient visits annually, 50,000 inpatient visits annually, 25,000 major procedures, and a broad range of specialties spanning 100 clinical and auxiliary departments and 30 laboratories.
With an amazing 2500 employees, 1125 of them are professors, chief physicians, associate professors, and deputy chief physicians, it boasts a capable workforce. More than 5,100 students are enrolled in the school today, including 3,000 undergraduates, 1,500 graduates, and 600 international students. The school works closely with hospitals and institutions in the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Finland, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan through academic exchanges.
Clinical medicine (MBBS) primarily aims to develop the abilities of international students in terms of human behavior, physiological structure, and normal mental state; causes of prevalent illnesses, such as mental illnesses, the influence of environmental, social, behavioral, and psychological factors on the development and occurrence of illnesses, and the significance of disease prevention; the causes of prevalent diseases and frequently occurring diseases, as well as their clinical signs, diagnoses, and treatment options; the normal course of pregnancy and delivery, the most common obstetric emergency treatment, the fundamentals of prenatal and postnatal health care, and family planning; fundamental knowledge of pharmacology and clinical principles of reasonable medication use; Knowledge of clinical epidemiology; fundamental patterns of development and spread of infectious diseases; and prevention of common infectious diseases are some of the topics covered in health education and disease prevention. Other topics include common diseases, disabilities, rehabilitation, hospice care, and general practice.

There are three sections to this program:
(1) Courses in Chinese culture and science. The Chinese language will be a required course throughout the whole undergraduate medical degree in English for overseas students in China in order to facilitate their learning, daily lives, and patient contact.
(2) The fundamental fields of clinical medicine, preventive medicine, behavioral science, humanities, social science, and medical ethics. Additionally, passing the tests for each of these courses’ exams is necessary.

Founded in 1897, Zhejiang Institution (ZJU) is a comprehensive national institution offering the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program. It directly falls under MOE’s control.
Students can choose to complete their internship or training in China or their home country, and the curriculum for the MBBS program has been established in accordance with MOE regulations and IIME criteria.
Clinical medicine is ranked seventh in China’s list of major national disciplines, behind internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and oncology.

Before participating in the senior clerkship in China, students must pass the HSKK (HSK Speaking Test) Intermediate Level and achieve a score of 190 on the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, the Chinese Proficiency Test).
Internship
In the last year, the internship is organized. You have the option of completing your internship or training in China or the host nation.
You must pass HSK 4 in order to interact with patients if you want to complete an internship in China, and this year’s tuition is the standard RMB 42,800. The internship will be completed in one of Zhejiang University’s six Grade III Class A affiliated hospitals. These hospitals can accommodate 238,000 inpatients, 8780,000 emergency visits, and over 7700 beds in total.

Guangzhou’s Sun Yat-sen University
General information about the MBBS program: In 2006, Sun Yat-sen University admitted 101 international students majoring in clinical medicine for the first time. The five-year program is taught entirely in English. They were primarily from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and Nepal. They followed the same curriculum, training standards, and quality assurance procedures as Chinese students, but they did so entirely in English. In particular, the university opened Chinese, Medical Chinese, and other courses for MBBS students. These courses were taught by excellent teachers who had been hand-picked, and outstanding Chinese students from the eight-year educational system had also been chosen as teaching assistants to assist MBBS students with their academic challenges. The majority of students were capable of finishing all courses and passing the graduation exam after three and a half years of theoretical study, six months of clinical clerkship, and one year of internship in one of Sun Yat-sen University’s affiliated hospitals. “Detailed Regulations of Sun Yat-sen University on Bachelor’s Degrees” requirements were satisfied by 81 students, who were awarded degrees.
We accepted 95 MBBS students in 2007. 91 students completed the criteria and received degrees after five years of study.
In 2008, 2009, and 2010 enrollment was put on hold. During this time, the university enhanced the quality of instruction for MBBS students by investigating approaches from various angles, such as curriculum optimization, the creation of excellent courses, the editing of English-language teaching materials, teacher training, the development of innovative teaching quality monitoring mechanisms, the establishment of English training courses, and so on. We progressively developed a quality assurance system for MBBS students after three years of work, and we saw some advancements.
When we re-enrolled MBBS students in 2011, the previous five-year educational structure had been replaced with a six-year one. Up to 2013, we had 119 clinical undergraduates enrolled in full-time English classes (including students from the 2011 and 2012 batches), which accounted for 6.6% of all the university’s international students. India (43, 36%), Thailand (21, 18%), Mauritius (18, 15%), Malaysia (9, 8%), Nepal (9, 8%), and other nations (18, 15%) make up the majority of those students.

Chengdu’s Sichuan University
MBBS Program: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Students from abroad can enroll in the MBBS program at Sichuan University’s West China School of Medicine, which is taught in English. Chinese is a required subject in the MBBS curriculum, and English is the language of instruction. Two years of fundamental medical science, three years of clinical science training, and one year of internship made up the program.
1. Recognition
The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has granted the West China School of Medicine of Sichuan University permission to accept international students for the English-medium MBBS program. In the list for the year 2010, only 52 out of 150 medical schools are authorized to accept international MBBS students studying in English.
The World Directory of Medical Schools, a publication of the WHO, includes the West China School of Medicine. the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECMFG), and the International Medical Education Directory (IMED).
Nine batches of medical students from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, the United States, Canada, Korea, Fiji, Cameroon, and other countries have been admitted to the university’s MBBS programs since its founding in 2001. As of 2011, this medical school had graduated six classes of international MBBS students.
The Medical Council of India Screening Test Examinations and the Nepalese Medical Council Licensing Examinations were among the medical council licensing exams that the MBBS graduates excelled in. Other graduates passed the USMLE licensing examination to practice in the USA and the Australia Medical Council Licensing Examination to practice in Australia. Graduates from this medical school get jobs at reputable public or private facilities back home.

Length of the Course
Five years of coursework are followed by a year of internship. One may complete the internship in university hospital or in a hospital in their own country that has been approved by the relevant country’s Ministry of Health. According to Chinese MOE regulations, before the sixth-year internship, students must pass the HSK exam if they wish to do an internship in one of the university’s hospitals.

Teaching Methodology
Since 2001, the MBBS program at the West China School of Medicine at Sichuan University has been offered in English. The majority of the faculty were educated in the USA and Canada. As a result, they are outstanding at instructing MBBS courses in English. More than 200 faculty members from the institution travel to the United States and Canada each year for training and instruction. The largest and one of the greatest medical schools in China is the West China School of Medicine. More than half of the doctors have worked or received their medical education abroad.
