Story
At the movie’s beginning, an older man named Paul Edgecomb tells a woman from a nursing home about his life. The story started in 1935 when Paul was a prison guard on death row. One day, a very big man named John Coffey walks into prison. He is accused of raping and killing two young girls. At first, not much is known about the man, and the prison guards are more interested in the other prisoners who are waiting to be killed.
But when Paul Edgecomb is in a lot of pain one time, he realizes that John Coffey has a mysterious ability to heal. After this gift saves Warden Hal Moores’s wife, Paul wonders if John killed and beat Hal Moores’s wife. Later, the real killer is caught, and everyone realizes that John is not guilty. But Coffey can’t forgive himself for being unable to save those two girls, so he agrees to be killed to stop hurting himself. Paul Edgecomb gets the gift of healing. He must now live forever and watch as everyone he loves leaves him one by one.

The most important thing about a dramatic cineb movie is how many characters are emotionally driven. They usually act based on how they feel about each other and how close they are. Every character in Green Mile has a different emotional history that affects the choices they make. For example, John Coffey wants to get rid of his guilt over not saving the girls, so he gives Melinda Moores’ illness to Percy. Percy then kills the real person who killed the girls. In the same way, Paul Edgecomb is moved by his feelings to change his view on justice and doubt someone’s guilt because this person is too good to have done such a cruel crime.
Another criterion is the number of conflicts, which can lead to actions that are hard to predict. In Green Mile, there are conflicts between people and within people. For example, John Coffey is always fighting with himself because he knows he lives to save people’s lives, but at the same time, he feels like he doesn’t deserve to live.
